The heating and temperature-monitoring gear I walk through for a crested gecko enclosure.

This video is part of my series on crested gecko care, and this part is all about heating. I go through the equipment used to measure, provide and control heat in an enclosure, one piece at a time.
Measuring temperature
The video starts with the tools for knowing what your temperatures actually are:
- a Zoo Med digital thermometer and humidity gauge
- an infrared thermometer
Heat sources
Next I cover the different kinds of heat source:
- the Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamp, in 25, 50, 75 and 100 watt versions
- a ceramic heat emitter
- an infrared heat lamp
- the Exo Terra Daytime Heat Lamp
- a reptile light fixture to hold the bulbs
- the Zoo Med ReptiTherm under-tank heater
Controlling heat
Finally I show a digital thermostat controller, used to keep a heat source in check.
